This week the topic discussed was Children's Television. The document was presented by Vaishali Priya and Anakha C J in class. The document included different growth of genres in children programs, from Doordarshan to Cartoon Network and Indianising of content for the kids to relate more to the content and the popularization of Pogo, Hungama and the Disney channel etc. The document also included the evolution of the children programs. Dr. Vartika Nanda gave points to research on, like the difference of content and language used for children's tv during the contemporary period vis a vis the 90s, the use of children in advertisements, the timeslot for children programs and challenges to children television etc.

The document also had details about the viewership of childrens’ television during the Covid -19 pandemic. The discussion continued with information about the regulatory bodies like the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Broadcasting Content Complaint Council, Censor certificates. Parental control and prime-time viewing band for children, was also discussed and Dr. Vartika Nanda gave inputs on the same. There was also a brief discussion on Animations.
