Background: Tinka Tinka Foundation proudly represented India at the prestigious 7th ECREA Radio and Sound Conference, held from September 6th to 8th, 2023, in Barcelona, Spain. Theme of the Conference for this year was 'Radio and Sound Ecosystems in the Platform Age.' Dr. Vartika Nanda, the founder of Tinka Tinka Foundation, delivered a detailed presentation on "Music on Prison Radio: Impact of Tinka Jail Radio on Inmates in Sonipat Prison, Haryana, India", in the panel on "Incarcerated sounds: Making radio within the prison ecosystem." 

Vartika Nanda was conferred with the Stree Shakti Puraskar by the President of India in 2014 for her seminal contribution to women empowerment through media and literature. She is called the VOICE OF DELHI POLICE for being the official storyteller for Delhi Police for the podcast series- Kissa Khaki Ka, the only podcast series by any police department in India. 

Currently, she heads the Department of Journalism, Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University.

Tinka Tinka Tihar: Initiated in the Tihar prison complex, it involved writing of a book, production of a music video and the painting of the outer wall of jail, which turned out to be the longest mural painting in India.

1)Topic of defamation was covered under these sub-heads

What constitutes defamation

The different types of defamation (civil and criminal)

Defenses against defamation

Crimes against women about defamation

Relevant case studies: Sakal Papers Limited vs Union of India and Subramanyam Swamy vs Union of India

2)A class activity was conducted where students were asked to write a 300-word piece on defamation to test their comprehension.

3)Assignments:

Two handwritten assignments were given to be submitted by next Monday.

Surbhi and Vidhi were specifically assigned the topic Women and Advertisement to research and present.

WEEKLY REPORT: 9th September, 2024- 14 September, 2024

● A detailed discussion was conducted on Live Reporting vs. Studio Reporting, focusing on their differences and the guidelines specific to live reporting in India.

● A session on Sting Operations covered:

-Meaning and types of sting operations.

-Legality and comparison of sting operations in India and other countries

-Legal actions that can be taken against sting operations.

-Positive and negative aspects of sting operations.

-Violations of Article 21 and concerns regarding decency and morality.

-Case studies: Aarushi Talwar Case and Live India Case.

-Drawbacks of sting operations.

● A discussion on Women and Advertising explored:

-The portrayal of women in advertisements

-Key concepts and vocabulary related to women in ads

-Government guidelines and ethical standards

-Women empowerment through advertising and its societal impact

-Case studies and the DD Codes for Ads

-Regulatory body codes and suggestions for improvement

● Tasks:

1)Gourvi was assigned a presentation on Regulatory Bodies. 

2)Anushka was assigned a presentation on Phone Tapping.

बदले हुए कश्मीर में मेरी यह यात्रा रुह में ताजी बयार लेकर आई है। कश्मीर को पहली बार बचपन में उस समय देखा था जब कश्मीर और पंजाब में आतंकवाद अपनी दस्तकर दे रहा था। उसके बाद 2012 में कश्मीर को एक सक्षिप्त प्रवास में महसूस किया लेकिन इस बार जिस कश्मीर को देखा, वो वैसा ही था जैसी कल्पना किसी भारतीय की होनी चाहिए लेकिन सच कहूं तो देखा हुआ यह सपना हकीकत में और भी सुंदर था।

लाजवाब हो कश्मीर।  इसमें शामिल तस्वीरों के लिए Vinay Maharaj जी और उनने परिवार का आभार। कुछ तस्वीरों में आपको मेरे पीछे नाशपती से लदे हुए पेड़ भी दिखेंगे।

शंकराचार्य मंदिर श्रीनगर के जिस पहाड़ पर बना हुआ है, उसे गोपाद्रि के नाम से जाना जाता है। अद्वैतवाद के महान प्रणेता शंकराचार्य के नाम से जाना जाता है। कश्‍मीरी पंडित मानते हैं कि 8वीं सदी में आदि शंकरा यहां पर आये थे। इस वजह से ही इस मंदिर का नाम शंकराचार्य मंदिर पड़ा है।
गर्भगृह में भगवान शिव का विशालाकाय लिंग स्थापित है। इस मंदिर की शैली को देखकर अंदाजा लगाया जाता है कि यह छठी या सातवीं शताब्दी में बनवाया गया था। गर्भगृह से कुछ सीढ़ियां नीचे उतरने के बाद आपको पत्थरों से बना ही एक छोटा सा कमरा दिखाई देता है जिसे शंकराचार्य की तपस्या स्थल माना जाता है।

जब पंजाब में आतंकवाद चरम पर था, कश्मीर में भी हालात बिगड़ने लगे थे, तब पहली बार कश्मीर को देखा था। उसके बाद 2012 में एक यात्रा और अब 2024 में दो बार नए कश्मीर को देखा।  बचपन में जिस कश्मीर को देखा था, वह अब सुंदर बदलावों के साथ पहले से ज्यादा खिल उठा है। इस दिवाली पूरे देश में शांति की प्रार्थना के साथ शेयर कर रही हूं यह  इस दिवाली बदले हुए कश्मीर पर सुनिए यह रिपोर्ताज। इसे ABP News Podcast series के तहत राजेश कुमार जी ने रिकार्ड किया है।
