There are many things that needs to look at. Jails are considered as a place which must be avoided and isolated! Things need to be changed there. We have the largest human population there and if we make good use of it. For aure it gonna help our country. Tinka tinka movement is reforming the lives of prisoners which is totally appreciable. #Vartikananda #prisoners #human_rights #humanity #change #tinkatinka

Jails are meant to ensure reformation of its inmates. But if the condition of jails are extremely bad, then the purpose of the jails cannot be fulfilled. In India there are many jails that are overcrowded and unhygienic. The authorities must ensure that at least some basic facilities such as hygienic washroom facilities, proper food and proper place to sleep are provided for the prisoners. What Vartika Mam has said in the above article must be noted and necessary changes need to be made. #tinkatinka #vartikananda #prisonreforms #humanrights

India needs to have open jails, the story of Manoj Jha strengthens this idea. Jail should be a place of change not punishment. #vartikananda #tinkatinka #jail #prison

Dr. Vartika Nanda provides interesting insight on women inmates and the issue of women prisons. Her comments on how jails are being built without keeping in mind the crime statistics and other logistics, help understand how important it is to build prisons properly and the manifestation of issues and problems when they are not. She has written three books Tinka Tinka Tihar, Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh, Tinka Dasna, and gives a true representation of life inside prisons. In her books, instead of sensationalizing, she sensitizes readers to the harsh realities of prisons. She is shattering the dehumanized and barbaric image of those incarcerated. Through her work, she is showing that inmates are humans with talent, aspirations, and a will to improve themselves. Her newest initiative is opening a prison radio in Haryana, she has earlier done so in Agra. Workshops were held to train inmates and to develop their talents and creativity. The work of Dr. Vartika Nanda, the founder of the movement of prison reforms in India, is a testament to the idea that rehabilitation and not punishment is the answer. The radio will also keep the inmates informed about their rights and will give them respite in these challenging times of the pandemic when the inmates cannot have any visitors.#tinkatinka #tinkamodelofprisonreforms#awards #vartikananda #prisonreform
