एस जी टी यूनिवर्सिटी, गुरुग्राम
13 फरवरी यानी विश्व रेडियो दिवस. इसी दिन पूरा विश्व रेडियो को उत्सव के रूप में मनाता है. इस परंपरा को जारी रखते हुए एस जी टी यूनिवर्सिटी, गुरुग्राम ने आज रेडियो के महत्व के ऊपर एक संगोष्ठी का आयोजन किया. इसमें वक्ता थे आकाशवाणी के पूर्व अपर महानिदेशक श्री लक्ष्मेंद्र चोपड़ा, बी बी सी के वरिष्ठ प्रसारणकर्ता श्री रेहान फज़ल और लेडी श्री राम कॉलेज की पत्रकारिता विभाग की डॉ. वर्तिका नन्दा.
डॉ. वर्तिका नन्दा कहती हैं कि रेडियो का सही ढंग से विकास करने की जरुरत है और इसमें छात्रों को अपना योगदान देना होगा.डा नन्दा कहती हैं की मीडिया को सही ढंग से समाज के लिए बेहतर काम करने की जरुरत है और इसमें रेडियो अपने अहम् भूमिका निभा सकता है.
श्री लक्ष्मेंद्र चोपड़ा ने कहा कि रेडियो के पास दृश्य का न होना ही उसको मजबूत और सशक्त बनता है.
संगोष्ठी के अंत में प्रोफेसर भाणावत ने एस जी टी यूनिवर्सिटी के रेडियो का सिग्नेचर ट्यून को लॉन्च किया.
मंच का संचालन प्रियंका कटारिया ने संभाला.

Dr. Vartika Nanda is doing phenomenal work in prison reforms. She has written three books Tinka Tinka Tihar, Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh, Tinka Dasna, and gives a true representation of life inside prisons. Instead of sensationalizing, she has written about the true and lived experiences of inmates and even their children who unfortunately are also lodged inside prisons. She brings a softer side to inmates who are troubled because they can’t meet their families, but even the smallest of things gives them joy like music, dancing, painting, etc. Her newest initiative is opening a prison radio in Haryana, she has earlier done so in Agra. Workshops were held to train inmates and to develop their talents and creativity. The work of Dr. Vartika Nanda, the founder of the movement of prison reforms in India, is a testament to the idea that rehabilitation and not punishment is the answer.
