Founded by Dr Vartika Nanda, a journalist, media educator and prison reformer, TTF has created several milestones over the years. Tinka Tinka Tihar, created in 2013, led the journey to the birth of Tinka Tinka Dasna and Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh. These are also the titles of the books that are considered to be the authentic versions of prison life. Tinka Tinka is also credited to train inmates and execute prison radios in the jails of Haryana.
Dr Vartika Nanda has also authored three books on prisons including Tinka Tinka Tihar, Tinka Tinka Dasna, and Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh that present authentic documentation of life in prisons. Through her books, Dr Nanda strives to connect the two realities - the reality of the prisoners and of perception. These books are a tribute to the human spirit that shines in each of these inmates, regardless of their circumstances.
