Published by Tinka Tinka Foundation, these books are a result of several journeys to Indian jails. They present orignal version of jail life, through art, color and creativity. 

Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh: 2018: Rs. 995/

Authored by Vartika Nanda, this book has created a milestone by making an original attempt to engage 19 people – twelve men, two women, four children (lodged with their mothers), and a warder (Prahari)- from the prisons of Madhya Pradesh. They have poured their creative efforts into something that will stand as a witness to their artistic genius. This BOOK was released by Shri Kiren Rijuji, MOS, Home, Government of India in 2018.

This is the first book of its kind which engages souls in prisons and helps them create a rainbow of hopes.

Tinka Tinka Dasna: 2016 & 2020: Rs. 500/ 

The book records the journey of five individuals whose lives changed after being sentenced to life imprisonment in Dasna Jail and how their search for meaning altered owing their circumstances. The names of three of them might sound familiar to most people: Surinder Koli, Dr. Rajesh Talwar and Dr. Nupur Talwar. The book combines methods of media and literature and during the process of its creation, fostered the construction of creative spaces that allowed inmates to give expression to their emotions. The process consciously aimed at rekindling hope in the lives of inmates. Dr. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar have contributed poems for the book which recite their turbulent experiences

अपराध से छिलती
फिर भी
उम्मीद की लालटेन थामे
हर औरत के लिए

यह पहला मौका है जब एक अपराध पत्रकार ने अपराध पर ही कविताएं लिखी हैं। एनडीटीवी में बरसों अपराध बीट की प्रमुखता और बाद में बलात्कार पर पीएचडी ने अपराध एक अलहदा संवेदनशीलता से देखने की ताकत दी। इसलिए इन कविताओं को संवेदना के अलावा यथार्थ के चश्मे से भी देखना होगा।

मेरे लिए औरत टीले पर तिनके जोड़ती और मार्मिक संगीत रचती एक गुलाबी सृष्टि है और सबसे बड़ी त्रासदी भी। वह चूल्हे पर चांद सी रोटी सेके या घुमावदार सत्ता संभाले – सबकी आंतरिक यात्राएं एक सी हैं।







इस ग्रह के हर हिस्से में औरत किसी न किसी अपराध की शिकार होती ही है। ज्यादा बड़ा अपराध घर के भीतर का जो अमूमन खबर की आंख से अछूता रहता है। यह कविताएं उसी देहरी के अंदर की कहानी सुनाती हैं। यहां मीडिया, पुलिस, कानून और समाज मूक है। वो उसके मारे जाने का इंतजार करता है और उसके बाद भी कभी-कभार ही क्रियाशील होता है।

हां, मेरी कविता की औरत थक चुकी है पर विश्वास का एक दीया अब भी टिमटिमा रहा है। दुख के विराट मरूस्थल बनाकर देते पुरूष को स्त्री का इससे बड़ा जवाब क्या होगा कि मारे जाने की तमाम कोशिशों के बावजूद वह मुस्कुरा कर कह दे - थी. हूं.. रहूंगी...।

राजकमल प्रकाशन से छपकर आ गई है मरजानी

पंजाब का एक छोटा-सा शहर – फिरोजपुर। 22 साल पहले यहीं से मेरा पहला कविता संग्रह आया था- मामूली सा। तब स्कूल में थी।

फिर यात्रा टीवी चैनलों से गुजरती हुई अब अध्यापन पर आ गई है। अभी लंबा सफर बाकी है। इस सफर की समूची गाथा अंदर जमतीं रहीं कविताओं ने देखी-सुनी। इन कविताओं ने असंख्य चेहरों को गौर से देखा, फिर खुद से संवाद करती रहीं, उनकी कहानी का अंदर वाचन करती रहीं।

मरजानी इसी गाथा का सार है। जो आस-पास देखा, अपनों-परायों को उधड़तो तारों में कसाव लाने के असफल प्रयासों में जो देखा, वो मरजानीहो गया। यही मरजानी आज छप कर आई है राजकमल प्रकाशन से।

इस संग्रह के लिए मरजानी से बेहतर कुछ सूझा नहीं क्योंकि मरजानियां मरने या मारे जाने का जबाव आने पर ज़्यादा जीवंत हो उठती हैं कई बार। सरकारी आंकड़े मरजानियों की कहानियां नहीं समझ सकते। मरजानी को समझने के लिए जरूरी है किसी के दिल में, किसी के आस-पास कोई मरजानी हो और उसका अहसास कहीं छूता हो।

इसलिए हो सके तो मरजानी के सफर में शरीक हो जाइए।
