It is a moment of great pleasure that the work done on prison reform has got recognition from the government. Jail Radio in Haryana was conceptualized when inmates were not allowed to move their relatives and were facing depression and stress. Jailradio brought aray of hope and clour of rainbows in their lives. It was a turning point for them when they could find a meaning to their lives. They gathered their energy and started working on the project. Day and night with one thought in mind, it was to make a radio programme for fellow inmates. The jail community now has a motive.
Dr. Vartika Nanda has given them a direction to fulfill their dreams. Today dreams in their eyes and wings to fly, they are working with zeal. The result is Sheru, Jatinder, Kashish.

Tinka Tinka is engaged in prison reforms and uplifting of inmates. Since its inception, started from Tihar jail, Tinka Tinka Tihar book compiled of poems written by women inmates. It moved to Dasna and again a book was published, Tinka Tinka Dasna featuring various arts of inmates. Later, Tinka Tinka MadhyaPradesh was published wherein inmates, small children staying with their mothers got a chance to display their art.
During pandemic when all were shut inside the doors and because of social distance , inmates were not allowed to meet their families, Tinka Tinka came with unique idea of jail radio. Jail radio is connecting he wires through hearts. Sheru, Jatinder, Kashish are such examples.
Dr. Vartika Nanda is pledged to reform the lives of inmates. HEr each step is for their welfare.

It is an honour for Tinka Tinka to be invited as a panelist for the opening session wherein significant findings on Indian prisons were shared wherein founder Dr. Vartika Nanda shared her podcast in the conference. This is the only podcast in India which is solely dedicated to prison reforms and aims at bringing together the growth of prison radio though the initiatives of Tinka Tinka. These regular podcasts are scripted and voiced by Vartika Nanda and provide an outlet to voices from prisons. Jail radio has already started in few jails of Haryana in 2 phases. Rest are under consideration. Jail radio is going to start in Uttarpradesh and Uttarakhand soon.
