First Visit to Lady Shri Ram College: Batch of 2023

 

Disclaimer : This Report has been made by the students of the Batch of 2023, Journalism department, Lady Shri Ram College For Women on their first visit to their college post pandemic. The Report below is the experience shared by each individual based on their personal views.

 

 

"A dream is not that which you see while sleeping, it is something that does not let you sleep." Well said by dr. Abdul Kalam.

 

Lady Shri Ram College is the best premier academic institution in India. Whenever one thinks of higher education in their academic life, Lady Shri Ram stands top at their bucket list and so was I. Soon after my high school, I was determined to land into my dream college "Elas". Since the pandemic hit us so badly last year, I never got a chance to visit and cherish the beautiful red walls of Lady Shri Ram College. Studying in the beautiful campus stands as another dream for the aspiring students to get into the college. The campus is as green and lively as forever. The campus is huge, marvelous and incredibly beautiful. For the first time I fortunately got a chance to visit the campus on (20/9/2021). The experience of seeing the campus, my hardworking Professors and Media lab had been a dream come true. Every bit of the college had a unique energizing vibe in itself. It was a very great opportunity to meet my friends and professors who helped and encouraged me in the online mode of learning to grow in my life. My professors especially are the backbone of every student. They are more of a parent-friend person with us. We also got a chance to see the great media lab of Lady Shri Ram College which is amazingly superb with studio rooms. It felt great to work with my professors, every work of theirs makes me realise that I am putting my efforts into building my future. – Priyanka

Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action. You cannot change your future, but surely you can write about your future. LSR was always my dream college and journalism was always my dream course. I remember the day when I got admission into LSR. I was totally full of tears, of course tears of happiness, tears of achievement, tears of my hard work that paid me well. But, there came another hurdle covid pandemic, that shook all of us from our roots. Fortunately, today after almost 1 year passed very quickly, I got a chance to come to college and visit the campus. Our Professor Dr. Vartika Nanda ma'am gave us an opportunity to have such a wonderful experience. We met our department teachers, we interacted with them. All the teachers were really cheerful and happy to see us at the college for the very first time. Vartika ma'am also provided us with some work and by this we learnt how things are actually done in offline mode. This physical mode of working experience was really a great learning experience. We had small chit-chats, we laughed together, we worked together, we learnt together and overall. We shared feelings and emotions together. I hope to have this experience again.

Lady Shri Ram College  has always been a dream college for me, and today it felt like my dream came true. I visited the college campus for the first time and it was surreal. The campus is so beautiful, there are flowers everywhere, there are dogs roaming around in the campus, for a second I actually thought I was in heaven. Jokes apart, after sitting at home for a whole year, completing my first year of college online, actually being on the campus felt so productive. We worked under the guidance of Dr. Vartika Nanda. It was a great experience. She is so motivating and so cheerful. We were accompanied by two dogs in our class too, sunshine and chase. They made my day just a little better by being there. The whole journalism department faculty was so welcoming, even though I met my professors for the first time, it felt like I’ve known them forever. We clicked pictures with them, had a chat about not only academics but other things too. There isn’t anything else I would trade this day for. I can’t wait to spend my next two years in this college.

My first visit to Lady shri Ram College for women or what people call it LSR was indeed  an unforgettable one. I am literally out of words while I try to describe the beauty of college. Those green lawns and gardens just brought a gentle breeze with a sense of peace while I was sitting in the class. I grew up with  people saying " college mai to aish hi aish h ". And today was the day I felt this. The best of the memories were created while clicking pictures with friends , having small chit-chats. It was a blessing to talk to the faculty in real life . I really regret not meeting my department faculty in person for so long. All of the teachers were so sweet and welcoming , it seemed as if we had a new family in this college. Not to forget, the whole credit goes to our head of the department - Dr. Vartika Nanda ma'am. She gave us this  golden opportunity. And she is the sweetest. Today may count as one of the best days of my life and I will always cherish this wonderfully amazing experience.

When I first heard about going to college, I was very excited about that. I was wondering about this precious chance and at last, I got it. Those red walls of lsr gave butterflies in my stomach. The college campus was wonderful, beautiful, and amazing. There's greenery all over as far as can be seen. It was very very amazing visiting there, meeting our fantastic faculty and a few of my classmates. I got the golden opportunity to work with the head of our department - Dr. Vartika Nanda ma'am, and trust me she is a very sweet, very kind-hearted woman. I never thought that it would be this much fun and interesting, as I am an introverted human, I talk very little, but when I went there it was like a very friendly environment, everyone was so good and nice to me. I got engaged in many works, I spoke to a lot of people there. Whether it was faculty, my classmates, and the other staff. I also got to meet the sweetest sunshine and sweeties (dogs inside LSR), they were very happy. Other than this, I spoke to Vikram sir, he was very kind and gave us a glimpse of the media lab. He told us everything about what is there in the media lab and what we are supposed to do there. I also got a chance to have a beautiful conversation with the lady in the canteen. She was so sweet and agreed to serve us the tastiest coffee. We took many pictures and selfies in different parts of college. I am very happy today and I wish to visit the college again.
