Tinka Tinka has been constantly working towards prison reforms and in since last few years they have really managed to bring a lot of stories to the common people. The reforms done by Tinka Tinka is something very less people know about and even very less people have attempted it. The stories about prison inmates from Tinka Tinka book series Tinka Tinka Tihar, Tinka Tinka Dasna and Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh has its own feel. #tinkatinka #vartikananda #jail

When someone goes into jail people just starting judging and give them label they are never going to change but it's not the case with most of it. We need to understand their stories, their reasons behind it, and try to change. Tinka Tinka & Vartika Nanda is constantly working to reform people for their betterment and trying to collect stories and experience to help others so past won't be repeated. Tihar book is about poetry so you can write that all the books and creative pursuits of Tinka point towards the softer side of prisons. Tihar brought poetry, Tinka Tinka Dasna is a live narration on jail life and Madhya Pradesh is a comparison of Indian jails with colors and real-life images.

Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh created a milestone by engaging 19 people twelve men, two women, four children lodged with their mothers and a warder (Prahari) from the prisons of Madhya Pradesh. In her books, instead of sensationalizing, Dr. Vartika Nanda sensitizes readers to the harsh realities of prisons. She is shattering the dehumanized and barbaric image of those incarcerated. Through her work, she is showing that inmates are humans with talent, aspirations, and a will to improve themselves. Her work is a testament to the idea that rehabilitation and not punishment is the answer. #tinkatinka #prisonreforms #books

“It’s not about what you tell your children, but how you show them how to live life.” Jada Pinkett Smith

19 souls, associated with prisons, came together with a prison reformer and created magic. This magic is titled Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh. This is the first coffee table book in India which is based on the real-life stories and creativity of inmates. These include 4 children out of whom 3 were born in jail.

Tinka Tinka Madhya Pradesh opens a new world on how their life is different from that of a normative childhood. Those children find something to hold onto and start learning from that by joining the small pieces of blocks into a bigger block. Prisons do not offer recreational opportunities for children. A few toys, a slate, a notebook and a pencil are provided to them as stationary and a few swings in the ground to play. As a result, these children seldom have access to learning, and often lack social skills, having been lived in a jail environment.

The book also features a few paintings of these children made with limited resources available to them in the jail.

Written by Dr. Vartika Nanda, India’s leading prison reformer and founder of Tinka Tinka Foundation, spent three years to prepare this exhaustive coffee table book. This book was released by Shri Kiren Rijiju, then MOS Home. This is the third book in the series of books published by Tinka Tinka on life in prisons, first two being Tinka Tinka Tihar and Tinka Tinka Dasna.

The book has changed my own views about the prisons and life behind the bars. It has changed my mind set about jails. Inmates too have hearts full of emotions and feelings. We the privileged section of the society should be considerate about the future of these caged children, after all they too are the future of the nation. #vartikananda #tinkatinka
