9th June, 2023 saw the batch of 2026 working with undivided attention, with newspapers, charts and scissors in their hand, and an aim to curate a perfect newspaper in their head. The first years were wholeheartedly engrossed in the newspaper making activity, as part of their practical component for the paper: Reporting and Editing for Print (REP), under Dr. Vartika Nanda’s supervision. She heads the Department of Journalism at LSR. It was an intellectually stimulating task as students laid their hands in finding news of different kinds, various elements of news, combining it in an aesthetically appealing way and lastly naming their newspapers after hours of toil. It was indeed a one of its kind experience for the entire batch. This was a group activity with 5 groups in total and ended in bringing students closer with their teammates, knowing each other's approach to work, and above all, promoting collaboration over competition. The students thoroughly enjoyed working on their newspapers, the pride and satisfaction after having something as big as a newspaper by their name was evident in their smiles.
